1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 2

This is a lovely right hand drive UK delivered manual example that has covered only 28,000 miles in the hands of four owners from new. It is in unmarked factory fresh condition throughout and comes with a full history from new with every invoice from original bill of sale to date and stamped service book. The car was supplied and has always been maintained by Dick Lovett, the official Porsche Centre in Swindon.

The car was originally ordered from Dick Lovett by a regular customer living in the nearby village of Driffield. He specified Guards Red paintwork with special order tan leather piped red, additional options included limited slip differential and electric sunroof. He took delivery of the car in August 1990 and was clearly a very enthusiastic owner who looked after his new Porsche very carefully. The car was only taxed for use on the road during summer months and he even had some towelling protective seat covers made which remain with the car ensuring that the leather interior remains as new today. He obviously liked the car as it remained in his possession throughout his life until 2008. During his ownership the car covered just 24,000 miles and was serviced annually by the supplying dealer. It was very rarely driven on wet roads and was kept highly polished and covered in a dry garage.

In 2008 the car was purchased by a good friend of the original owner. He continued to take great care of the car, using it rarely in summer months. He also returned the car to Dick Lovett for annual servicing despite living several hundred miles away from them, utilising a transport company for delivery and collection.

We purchased the car from this second owner in 2010 having often admired the car when in the workshop. The car was very quickly sold to a Porsche enthusiast who had been looking for a great 964 to join his immaculate 994 S2. Almost unbelievably, it turned out that the registration number of this 964 was just one away from that on his 944! Both had been delivered on the same day in August 1990, by Dick Lovett.

Once again in this ownership the car remained in store during inclement weather, only being used carefully and sparingly on fine days. It continued to return to Dick Lovett for service work.

Hairpin purchased both the 964 and the 944 from this last owner last summer. Following a great drive back to Wiltshire the car was returned to Dick Lovett for a full service and at the same time we had the none functioning stereo replaced with the excellent new Porsche Classic unit that incorporates DAB radio, CD player, navigation and Bluetooth. Following this work the car once again sold quickly to a local enthusiast with a significant collection of fine cars.

Today the car remains in the most fantastic order, retaining the freshness and even smell of a two year old example. As one would expect, it is a super drive with a tightness and fluency one would expect of a perfectly maintained, low mileage Porsche. It comes with every scrap of paper from new including all books and stamped service book. In addition the unused toolkit is present as are spare keys.
